Pros

CEO is a decent human being, people are friendly and helpful. Interesting data and technology challenges. Aim is to help science progress. Nicest place I have worked most of the time. There is a real sense of caring.

Cons

Imagine a global CTO who spreads fear, misery and unhappiness. All while the rest of the organisation strives for psychological safety. This reactionary, narrow minded control driven approach is why Elsevier spends enormous sums on tech with little return. Good people keep leaving because of him. I'll be next.
