Working at Elsevier

Pros

The best thing about working at Elsevier is the people, their inspirational. If you have a 'can do' attitude and are willing to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment, you will be recognized and rewarded. It's full-filling to be part of an organization that is pivotal in getting information to medical practitioners that really need it, in a way that’s critical, timely and relevant. The benefits packages are also fantastic and Elsevier supports flexible working.

Cons

Elsevier has office locations worldwide, the one I work in is a little isolated but saying that nearly everything you need is on site i.e., canteen, gym, recreation area and we're only a short car journey from a few decent pubs.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that we have great benefits and that we provide the opportunity for our employees to travel. However, sorry to know that you felt employee development did not meet your expectations and that you felt you weren’t listened to when you were in our organisation. It’s is regrettable that you couldn’t communicate these frustrations while you were with Elsevier. We take them seriously and will discuss how to improve things should we find that the points raised here resonate with our current employees in the same role. We aim to provide a great work environment for all and would welcome the opportunity to learn more about your specific experience. If you’re willing to elaborate on these points, please reach me at elseviergdrev@elsevier.com

Thank you for your great review of our corporate culture, diversity and our continuous quest on how to better shape researchers and readers experience according to their real needs. We are pleased to hear this from one of our employees. As a global company with several business units, departments and groups, it could be challenging for all to communicate seamlessly. Departmental silos are seen as a growing pain for most organizations of all sizes. This is why we have a Global Communications Team supporting our leaders and management to equip their teams with the mind-set to break down any communication barriers.
