Great people, challenging culture

Pros

The people are very nice

Cons

It tends to be very hierarchical. Actual jobs dont really fit job descriptions and bandwidth is an issue. Unless you are VP or above, you can give your advice just fine but it is rarely listened to giving you a sense that your skillset isnt really recognized or appreciated. Bringing up issues doesn't tend to matter. Solutions are talked about but are rarely actioned. There tends to be a wall between upper leadership and those below. I'm not sure the C-suite know about the issues or perhaps they do and don't prioritize them. Unclear as there is no sight of that. Job security overall is an issue.

Pros

Good work life balance Job security

Cons

Senior leadership is weak Travel ban, we can’t even travel from London to Oxford to meet colleagues HR openly says that career progression can happen only by moving internally Very very hard to attend tech conferences abroad Lower salary than some other equally big companies Individual contributors are treated as second class citizen, easy to get to the top band and then the only way up is taking up management
