Pros

It is a shame I had to leave the firm because I genuinely did enjoy working here, the people are great and my Head of Desk Aaron was also very accommodating at teaching me sales along with Hayden too, it was good to know that in the firm you get rewarded for hard work like Aaron did. There is clear progression set out for you and everyone knows what it required. The main reason I left was just due to outside work in London really, I would come back later in my career just not now. If you read the other reviews I genuinely do think those are people who can't hack the sales environment, of course its going to be tough at a fast growing firm but in all honesty you have to work hard in any job to achieve financial goals.

Cons

The only thing that must be stressed is that I didn't get told explicitly that there is no commission until promotion (others were explained structure but I only found out once employed), make sure you are aware of how long it takes to get promoted.. However, after promotion the money is exponential.

Pros

- Very good social atmosphere - Regular team drinks / food - Regular sales floor drinks / food - 5 a side weekly and 11 a side every few weeks - Often have drinks with co workers - All weekends off - Half a chance of making good money in 5 - 7 years (100K a year)

Cons

- As a BD you don't earn commission (Base is £20K). Can be a lot of hard work for very little reward. - Need to bill 55k in rev (will probably take a year) to be promoted and start to earn commission - FX is a very saturated market and can be difficult to pitch - Only 20 days holiday a year - Office in a dull basement - During summer the market goes quiet and clients go on holiday - Time after 4:00pm is often dead - Everything is based on KPIs (call times, prospects, apps back, trades). This means people falsify their records in order to meet them - Big business can take months to secure; time which you may not be given

Ebury Response

Thank you for your comments. We are glad that you recognise the good things that happen at Ebury and potential to be promoted and make good money in commissions thereafter. Like many successful start ups we are not as competitive as longer established companies when it comes to benefits, but we are looking to become more competitive on this front in the not too distant future - at the moment the focus is on rapid international growth and the recruitment of great sales people. In regards to the dull basement comment, we have since move to a new location in which our whole sales and back office team occupy a very modern high tech office floor with floor to ceiling glass windows, chill out areas and a roof terrace...this is all in the heart of Victoria just 2 minutes from Victoria station.
