Pros

It was a steady paycheck.

Cons

As a former U.S. employee it was very clear that Bernard Charles and the management team in Velizy are concerned with one thing: revenue. Employee happiness and job satisfaction are at best a distant afterthought. At no point during my employ at a DS subsidiary did I ever feel that Dassault cared about me as an employee, or that my contributions were valued, and decision after decision handed down from corporate reinforced that. Any semblance of office culture or employee perk was slowly snuffed out as our company was integrated post-acquisition. Dassault has acquired some wonderful products. SolidWorks, is a great example. However it insists on tying those products together via "The 3DEXPERIENCE Platform", a web portal that is so embarrassingly slow, clunky, and dated that it's amazing Sales is ever able to sell customers on the associated (and actually good) software. If you're considering employment at Dassault or a portfolio company, do your research.

Pros

Very interesting and challenging projects. The software is really cool and powerful. This is a great learning environment for people fresh out of university. You will learn a lot in a very short time. The colleagues are all amazing, motivated and smart people.

Cons

Low base salary. Secondary benefits used to make up for this, but these have continuously been reduced after the take-over by Dassault Systemes. No focus on personal development. All training is done via e-learnings, which is fine for the first year, but lacks depth. Work-life balance is challenging. If you do not stand up for yourself, you will find yourself working 60 hours a week, every week. Poor employee retention. A lot of people leave after 2 years for the above reasons.
