Pros

An exciting place to work Great magazine sales Nice people Love that they allow dogs in the office

Cons

Unfortunately there is little opportunity for career development and pay increases are at the minimum. Outdated and old fashioned methods. Still pay minimum wage for some roles - don't understand why they can't pay the living wage. They expect a lot of hard work but don't reward effort. Support teams are massively overlooked and not invested in. They do not treat people well who want to work flexibly or have families. Maternity leave packages are tight. No team or office events.

Pros

Being able to put a the company name on your resume and building thick skin, good benefits.

Cons

Disorganized and abusive management, condescending, a lot of gossip among management, zero room for growth, HR tied to senior management, zero professionalism, senior management gossips about editors and other senior management from matters relating to work to their physical appearance/character, constant job insecurity, mistakes are magnified as crisis with serious consequences rather than as learning experiences with discussion.

Pros

Great benefits and perks. Free admission at any museum in NYC, discounts at salons, spas, gyms etc. etc. Prestige and brand recognition everywhere, great name to have on the resumé. Working alongside some of the smartest, most legendary names in the business.

Cons

A little "high school-ish" at times, feels like a popularity contest/beauty pageant/finishing school. Pay is low unless you are exec level.
