Pros

Top brands and excellent editorial product. Deep marketing and research resources/support - although that was before they began contracting. Great brands to open doors and get first class brand sales experience. They hire good people and get best of breed professionals.

Cons

Pay is not as good as you think it is. When annual bonuses come up they try to get them down through sleight of hand tactics. I found it insulting. The whole model, diva culture is a bit over the top especially as they are now suffering from a slow to launch digital strategy. Still politics there, how can there not be. Not as powerful of a publisher now as they were in the 90's and early 200s.

Pros

- Name recognition & very impressive on resume - Get to work for widely known brands in publishing industry - You can talk up your job and make yourself seem like a big deal (even if you aren't) - Decent pay and benefits - Some great people to work with if you have the time to get to know anyone

Cons

- Outside offices are a dead zone: really quiet, can get boring, disconnected from main hub in NY, ONLY sales in outside offices (so they are fine places to work if you are looking to go into sales) - Everything goes on in NY offices - Old appearance of office in general, which was shocking - Dirty carpets - SLOW computers - NO upward mobility whatsoever in satellite offices (assistant and reps ONLY) - There are a few nightmares that work there, so watch out for them - NO good holiday parties or team building - You get an umbrella for Christmas from NY even though it NEVER rains in LA!!!

Pros

Condé Nast has a great corporate culture and benefits. Lunch at the $30 million cafeteria by superstarchitect Frank Gehry is an unforgettable an experience.

Cons

Change comes slowly, especially in times of economic difficulty. Condé Nast is doing a very good job of delivering premium content from print publications onto mobile devices, but some internal business processes and technologies need to be refreshed.
