Pros

Big company, it has wide range selection for climbing career ladder. Have high degree of job security and benefits for employees. Most of the coworkers are nice, good environment, and good work life balance

Cons

Too conservative to keep the talented people or people with aspiration in the company. Not willing to give the opportunities for potential people to try.

Pros

Generous employee scholar program (pays for tuition, books, all fees including remote exam proctoring etc). They also invest in your professional development with internal trainings and no limit on how many you can sign up for. In my department I work 80 hours in two weeks and flex my hours as desired, while being available during typical business hours (a soft 9am or 10am to 3pm I'm available for meetings and flex my other hours all over the place). In other departments they work people way too hard/long. Managment has gone out of the way to try to retain employees during COVID-19 by re-deploying engineers to other departments. Also, you have freedom to move laterally within the company and try out something new. Many people including myself have done this and it's fantastic. You can really match your talents to the best career that way and find something you really enjoy and are really good at. Flex time (more flexible than 9/80), 401k match, typical HSA medical plans, etc.

Cons

Pay is mediocre, they will layoff employees for many different reasons without hesitation. They've done it in the past just to boost return for the shareholders and to give millions to the CEO. There are tons of layers of management and executives and businesses within businesses (Rohr dab Goodrich dba Collins dba Raytheon Technologies, etc). They've laid off employees for normal reasons too like lack of new programs due to COVID-19. Basically you're just a number here, not a person. You're a resource. It's cold, but if you don't mind, they're not rude about it, they consider you like a hammer, you're a tool with utility, you're not like a nice family photos that they'd hold sentimental value for, if you ever lose your usefulness (no matter how close to retirement), you're deleted and replaced (or not). There are some exceptional managers that break this trend, but they are exceptional, not typical at this company. Still with all the cons, I really like working here. I don't mind the cons that much compared with the pros, especially for the work-life balance in my department.

Pros

Everyone on my team was quite understanding and helped when they could.

Cons

Time off seems easy to come by at this company. But when this COVID-19 breakout started. My hours were switched to working insane crazy hours from 4:30pm until 3:00am Tuesday through Friday. Due to they didn't want 2nd shift employees interacting with 1st shift. This was poorly handled and should've been managed a whole hell of a lot better.
