Pros

Accumulated stock awards are attractive if you are at the Principal Engineer/Director level

Cons

Two years on from my departure and I still struggle to identify anything remotely positive about Cisco beyond staying for share options. Continual, stealth headcount reductions after each quarter's results have gradually removed those with the energy and creativity that Cisco desperately needs to reinvent itself. For those early-in-career, I'm not convinced that having Cisco on the resume/CV helps. My experience is it can hinder you when applying to new roles as you are tarred with having worked in a slow-moving, behemoth company rather than a fast-moving agile start-up. Let's face it - this is a company that should have owned the whole videoconference market in the wake of COVID-19 via WebEx yet it is Zoom that has stolen both the zeitgeist and the market. That should be enough for the Board to call for Chuck to step down and for them to bring in a visionary technology leader rather than yet another senior salesperson with a strategy that only looks 2 quarters out in a vain attempt to keep Wall St happy...

Pros

Flexible timings, many intelligent people around. Good food and infrastructure.

Cons

1) nothing much to learn . There is no clear roadmap for why to evaluate new ideas. Its just that cisco has money so they invest and if it doesnt work then just throw the people out. 2) mass layoffs frequently. 3) constant state of comparison rather motivating for getting things done . 4) people who knows how to sustain in cisco they can but people who are intelligent but dont have the survival skills in cisco wont make it. 5) 100 of propietory frameworks by cisco ,because of which you will be lost and you wont be able to learn anything new and its very difficult to understand the existing framework completely. 6) 100% revocation of vote for Chuck robbins as CEO. 7) never refer any colleague to join CISCO. Bad place to work. 8) work environment is serious all the time ,no vibrant environment to keep energising people. People here work like robots .such a pity( cisco was once my dream company , and sometimes dream doeant comeout as you think). 9) negligible to no hikes.

Pros

Average salary and good benefits

Cons

Cisco is an organisation which is devoid of any genuine ethical or moral credibility. Despite the efforts they go to with their PR activity. Cisco's culture causes mental illness far too regularly. Cisco discriminate against people who have mental health issues. They are actively covering up and misrepresenting the scale of the harm their sales teams are being subjected to by wilfully discriminating both financially and through their actions, against anyone who suffers mental ill health due to the stresses of the role. Also, not enough support to avoid burnout - Always connected culture leads to burnout - likely to be harassed by sales leadership quite often including evenings and weekends. Cisco DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANY EMPLOYEE - THEY BRAINWASH THEIR WORKFORCE INTO BELIEVING THEIR SPIN.
