Pros

Breadth of portfolio is a strength. Big company perks but also cons. Interesting challenges to solve. Cut throat internal politics.

Cons

Stalled growth makes it a difficult culture to enjoy. Annual layoffs create risk-avoidance behavior from employees. Slow moving to attack market disruptions.

Pros

Flexible on working time and location - focus is on getting the job done rather than 'logging hours at your desk' Great benefits in the UK

Cons

You are not really in control of your career, even though you are told you are - you are past around from one manager to the next and seldom able to define where you would like to be. Career decisions are made and then you are told what your next move will be.

Pros

The paychecks don't bounce. They are likely to continue to make money and be successful at what they do. Some of the benefits are good.

Cons

There is no sense of transparency about the operation of the business. It's a mystery what we are even working on. There is very little sense of direction or purpose. There is a big push to get employees to watch presentations that tell us very little about the future. The HR services are "serve yourself", which means lots of time wasted on navigating various websites to get things taken care of.
