Sinking ship

Pros

Benefits are fairly good. That's it.

Cons

Very poorly run company, no transparency in corporate communication, complex & difficult to understand org structure, compensation philosophy is unfair to employees (you will not get a raise unless you are promoted). Across the organization, every department is running too lean - people are having to do at least the job of 2 employees. This is not sustainable.

Pros

Benefits are great, especially 401k match. Good work life balance, although I think this varies depending on your department. Compensation seems to be fair whenever I compare it to the marketplace. Company is trending in the right direction in terms of empowering employees, driving accountability and moving away from a structure that was too hierarchical and bureaucratic. Still work to be done, but it is getting better. Creation of D&I team, but too soon to know results of these efforts.

Cons

Company is implementing a massive culture change movement but still has quite a ways to go. Some of the problems with Company culture relate to respect, and how employees are treated, but this isn't really addressed by the new culture initiative and is not even remotely touched upon in the "Focused Five". That has created some cynicism among employees about the new culture. They see or personally experience some level of bullying or harassment and comment "nice culture change", and they are not at all motivated to deliver on the Focused Five after that. Many good leaders who "get it" and set a good example - but a few who have been there a long time and have gotten by using intimidation, retaliation, and generally toxic behavior. They are in the minority, but still too many of them and some are at senior levels of the organization and are feared and viewed as "untouchable". The Company will not achieve the culture change they want as long as these folks are around. If the Company would get serious about dealing with this, I would have given CNH 5 stars.

Great place to gain experience, bad place for a career

Pros

CNH has a fantastic 401k plan. They have a pretty complete benefits package including health, dental, vision and life insurance. The people I worked with were friendly and helpful. Most middle managers were good to work for. Starting salary is competitive. WFH was allowed pre-pandemic and they will probably always be flexible on their WFH policy. During the summer they allow you to do half day Fridays as long as you still hit 40 hours for the week.

Cons

They have no urgency to backfill positions. I was promoted to a new role and had to still keep my old responsibilities for over a year because they "didn't have the budget" to backfill. Many employees are overworked and working long hours. Their performance review system is not great. Managers are only allowed to give good performance scores out to a limited number of employees resulting in the majority of employees getting average to poor reviews. This has a direct impact on your bonus. I didn't receive my full bonus two years in a row despite having good reviews. Last year I only received half my bonus while having a "good" performance review. I never got an explanation even after asking. Raises are far and few between. You really have to switch positions internally to get any significant raise. Purchasing is very bureaucratic. Management and upper management need to approve litterally everything you do. Emoyees are not empowered to make decisions. So many pointless presentations because senior management in Italy wants to have the final say in everything that happens.
