Pros

Lots of opportunities due to the high turnover, if u r a real sales driver, u may be promoted after a year.

Cons

Totally a product driving business. Outdated system, micromanagement drives people crazy. Since the high turnover rate, management team know nothing but pushing. Not a long term employment for sure. But if you like a high pressure environment with low pay, Cibc is the best place to work.

Pros

Overall nice people and work life balance

Cons

Global bank CIBC acquired local The Private Bank- pretty much former Lasalle Bank employees-very clicky and mistrustful towards people who are not them. They promoted their own people left and right during acquisition. There is no diversity-in the sense that if you are not part of 'the bus', you might have a hard time. Your merit wont matter at this point. No accountability for management. A lot of people should never be in the position of managing their own dog, let alone other people, they are "outdated"

Pros

great work colleagues which makes the place bearable

Cons

No opportunity for advancement so people move to other departments within same level micro managed by upper management on a daily basis Favouritism politics if you anger the senior managers it will be a living hell since they want you out. does not appreciate the effort cannot bring concerns to management does not take it well make it hell if you do. people who join after gets better shifts and your stuck weekends some end up with better bonuses manipulating the systems and managers do not audit or bother to investigate
