Pros

benefits are decent, you get some good stock purchase plan

Cons

Poor management at the branch, very high turnover rate, employees are under constant thread of being blacklisted if they were to leave. Management does not provide adequate resources for their directs to perform and in turn blames us for poor performance. Overall a very toxic work environment and most new hires leave in less than 6 months

Pros

All is well until you meet your first prejudice team leader.

Cons

Not what I would expect from a financial intuition. Before working there, I passed the building several times at 750 Lawrence avenue west in North York south of Flemington Park. I thought it was a hospital or crime scene because there was always an ambulance there. Hr staff does nothing but side with the higher job level bubble in every incident weather wrong or right, again Hr fails. Although working for Cibc may sound appealing, from the ambulances roaches, rats to feces, predators to prejudice & Harassment. My experience working at Cibc has been simply disgusting throughout. Every front line staff member is well aware the silo mentality, Ego culture & salacious behavior at 750 Lawrence avenue west North York Ontario. Which is why they struggle with lower ratings compared to others banks. Easily my worst experience working in Canada, of all banks definitely Canada’s worst employer
