Pros

Decent benefits, face time not an issue.

Cons

Where do I begin - bank named "most likely to walk into a sharp object" by well-known local journalist - always seemed to be some scandal blowing up (Enron, customer info being faxed to random 3rd parties, mutual fund trading scandals, etc) that made it hard to present CIBC as an institution with inegrity, lowered morale; management obsessed with process over results, and an unhealthy obsession with 2x2 matrices; people who didn't understand banking or client service put in charge of the commercial bank, coming up with ridiculous strategies to 'grow the business' (which immediately shrank the business). Lots of people around you with hands up for a package.

Pros

Opportunity for learning/training and using CIBC as a stepping stone to better opportunities.

Cons

The banks reputation within the consumer market place. Slow to bring in new products and technology for the consumer users.
