Pros

The day you finally wake up to prioritise yourself so that you can leave the cult.

Cons

The company has a big-brother like atmosphere. Badge-in/badge-out times are strictly monitored and plastered on emails and internal systems for everyone to see. The company expects you to dedicate your entire being to it and for it to be your number one priority. The standard office hours are 8am to 6pm which I have never seen before in another company and leave you no time to do anything outside of work. They expect 4 days in office a week, which is soon to become 5. There is a cult-like idolisation of Mike Bloomberg as a figure (see copy and paste handshake with Mike Bloomberg photos on LinkedIn) and it is his messaging that has created a toxic working culture from the very top. As per his autobiography, you should be happy to work through lunches and weekends and if you ever leave the company, you have betrayed him and are banned from ever applying for a role there again. There is a focus on tenure and hours worked over actual work output. You will realise very quickly that many people at the top have become comfortable staying there but have lost their skills and sense of the real world. Even people who are severely underqualified for their roles and make critical mistakes can remain, just on the basis that they have been in their roles for 5+ years. There is no consideration for personal wellbeing. Most people are absolutely miserable. The "flat structure" and "no job titles" is a mask to keep your salary stagnant and development non-existent. There is extreme pride for aspects like the "free snacks" in the pantry and philanthropic "BOB" hours but all of these are just masking the extremely toxic and detrimental work atmosphere. It is suffocating.
