      Potentially a great Company....but leadership is a revolving door

      Pros

      Lots of great people (although usually under utilized) Pioneer type spirit, and people work long hours to get anything done. Benefits pretty good. Salaries OK, no great ,lots of Flexible working available

      Cons

      Politics, Politics and more politics at the most senior levels.Huge amount of 'control 'and bureaucracy mainly emanating from the UK. The MD/Board do not seem to understand the international aspect of the GS business, focussing instead on the domestic UK businesses. The best people stay a few years, realize they cannot tolerate the complexity of getting anything done and leave.

      Pros

      Big company with a lot of change. Great if you are based in London area.

      Cons

      Real disconnect between high level strategy & implementation on ground. Performance management is a real hot topic and is generally applied inconsistently around the business with little regard to objectives. Little in way of career management other than what you make for yourself.

      Pros

      salary paid is above the industry norm. Big name with most people recognising it.

      Cons

      They only believe in cost cutting and that may be at your expense. Managers across the board are ill mannered. I have not seen a single developer who is happy. Hike in salary is very low. At max 8% if someone perform out of world. You will be hired saying development work is the core. You end up spending your time taking call that may extend upto 8-9 hours a day. No onsite. This is contrary to what the managers promise when you are interviewed. loads of work. No means of redressal. You can't shift accounts.
