Pros

Coworkers at former Wheaton Franciscan ministry were always great.

Cons

Ascension is fooling Nuns into giving up their non-profit healthcare organizations (for free) faster than they can assimilate them into their archaic IT infrastructure. Everything is money driven which doesn't feel like the mission of a non-profit catholic healthcare org. The moral compass of leadership was revealed when they threatened to shut down St. Joseph's hospital until the public cried out. Management was constantly driving home the fact that Ascension, as a whole, was off budget by $100 million. Even though AIS was in the black our cell phone stipend was taken away and they enforced a hiring/promotion freeze. I would bet that raises this year were nothing to write home about. Lots of sunshine meetings to try and raise morale and the level of brown nosing in the meetings was nauseating. Coupled with doom and gloom meetings to make sure we are all aware why we probably wont be getting raises flatlined my trust in leadership. They call their standards "Gold Standards".... gross....

Pros

VPs were fairly easy to work with

Cons

After merging with Wheaton, several positions were eliminated. This was a very large scale reduction in force, but was not publicized and was completed in waves. There was very little consideration for long term associates. Ascension has lost site of the mission, and shows little concern for their associates. There is no recognition program, all perks were lost with the merge. Health care benefits are expensive

Pros

Free soda, benefits are good, potential to work from home..

Cons

Too many Directors that do NOTHING. Organization is top heavy. Associate experience is not working, CEO doesn't care about the associates and seems to dislike females in high positions.

Thanks very much for your feedback. Our Associate Experience program is a journey, one that we will never see the end of but one we will see the impact of every day. Our culture is what we make it. We need to say what we want and like, and what we don’t want. A big part of our program this year is about getting feedback. Every manager and leader is expected to reach out and talk to people including me. The only person forcing me to have “office hours” is me. I need to hear from you. Come see me during my café hours. Send me an email or IM me! That is my commitment. To listen to you. I would love to talk to you, hear about what you like and don’t and figure out how we can work together to make this the best place ever! I do hope you will take me up on my offer. Lee, CEO
