Pros

Pros? Only if you’re referring to the people actually doing the work instead of the pencil-pushing higher ups making the bucks and the decisions affecting the workforce and quality of patient care. Capitalism is all well and good, but $17 mil for the top dog of Ascension? It’s obscene.

Cons

They ran the nuns out (the official line is they were aging and were called home to Indianapolis or wherever they’re home base is) and the money men took over. Outsourcing is the name of the game and forget about maintaining a presence in the community. You know, actually caring for the poor and vulnerable in the community as stated in the mission statement. What a joke. Only it’s on the patients.

Too much change, no stability.

Pros

Coworkers and working with the Daughters of Charity.

Cons

In a non-stop state of flux. New programs are rolled out and then stopped or changed with no clear reason, never giving them time to work. Non-management is never given a reason for the change or any sort of clarity for the constant changes. Management is more concerned with making money than employees, patients or the mission. The company is no longer mission focused. They have really lost sight of what once made them great.

Pros

Great Work from Home Policy. Challenging Mission oriented work.

Cons

Tsunami Waves of Changes that are not well orchestrated. Leadership would like agility however, still clings to a hierarchial structure. No investment in enabling an agile environment. No Test Automation, Test Driven Development MIA, Training in Agile Practices and Agile Leadership was not considered.
