Pros

Fun work environment, travel perks, & new hire training program. CEO Steve Squeri is a genuine, down to earth leader.

Cons

Put in multiple years at this company with little to no opportunity for personal development, even though that is all they boasted about during my interview process. Amex management will pile on the extra tasks in the name of “projects” for absolutely no extra pay. Travel benefits are great but not when you’re barely making a living wage otherwise. Most team leaders have no experience working in travel themselves and are also overworked/underpaid from what I witnessed.

Pros

None at all. RUN as fast as you can

Cons

They’ll train you wrong and then when you get in production youll be reprimanded about it. The highest you can get paid is 21.69 and they’re going to try to force you into centurion. DONT DO IT

Pros

Hours and weekends off, peers

Cons

Management is terrible, compliance makes up rules as they go. One minute you’re doing a great job, the next they put you on a gross misconduct for the pettiest things you never knew you couldn’t do until you get on the gross misconduct. For example giving the customer some wrong information to access airport lounges is construed as a gross misconduct. Compliance management have never been in sales and makes up rules every other week for example not being able to use the word return when it comes to membership rewards points when that is exactly what they are getting a return. The company doesn’t have anyone’s back, we have your back is an understatement. It’s a joke. Very stressful. Not worth the stress. Upper management has never even done the job and they say they know how hard the job is and keep implementing new rules to make the job harder.
