Not a great place to work

Pros

Good to have on CV, basically opens the door to better employers in the future once Amazon is seen on the CV. Also, diverse options of learning and development, but no one to guide you, you have to pick your learning & development yourself.

Cons

- Lowest salaries in the market with no chance in fixing it later. The is a saying repeated by Amazonians which is “The best offer you get from Amazon is your hiring offer”, which means if you didn’t get a good one in hiring, you will never get a good one with Amazon. - Internal transfers and lateral movements come with 0 increase in compensation, mentioned clearly in the internal jobs portal. - 5 days working in the office like how good old baby boomers used to do it 👴👍 - HR team is non-existent, no one to welcome you and no one to talk to you, years until bow and I haven’t met a single HR person in Amazon, not even in the interviewing process. - HR changes rules in regards to promotions every 6 months, ensuring most promises of promotions go unfulfilled.
