Pros

Amazon on your resume opens doors whether people admit it or not You get access to massive datasets that you just won’t see at most companies Most people are actually really smart and take data seriously You learn how to think rigorously and defend your work which sticks with you Pay and benefits are good esp compared to smaller tech companies If you don’t love your team you can usually move internally after some time

Cons

The pace is intense and there’s always more work no matter how efficient you are A lot of time spent in meetings debating metrics before anything gets decided Expectations can be vague and you’re supposed to “figure it out” on your own Recognition is pretty minimal doing well is just expected Work life balance depends heavily on your manager and org It’s easy to feel like a small cog in a very large machine
