      Pros

      nice people, nice people, nice people, nice people, nice people, nice people, nice people.

      Cons

      old fashioned development style, frozen development tools for many many years (in 2016 they haven't upgraded g++ to support C++11, and many more). clock in and out.

      International, lots of people are bi- or tri-lingual at least, big melting pot of nationalities Generally good flexibility on working hours (varies by department though) Good opportunities for mobility if you're happy to push for them and be flexible Excellent training courses Airbus Commercial Aircraft has excellent staff council Airbus Commercial Aircraft has excellent internal restaurants

      Big group = lots of inertia Despite lots of task about mobility there are lots of job hoggers Need personal network to progress (not merit based) No new programmes in sight so refocus on processes in main group companies Decreasing opportunities for progression due to reduction in middle management positions/tighter rules regarding promotions Department culture very dependent on boss (personality, nationality, etc) - big variations across services and the company

      Pros

      Everyone at Airbus is inspired by the product and identifies with it. Being motivated is easy because of the team spirit and the sense of a common goal. You always have the feeling of working at the forefront of technology. The company develops at a fast pace and things change on a day-to-day basis.

      Cons

      Because you work in a large company, you can easily get the feeling that you are a small cog in a large wheel. For a variable and interesting career in the long term you should look around in other departments and initiate a change. The good side is, that it is easily done having in mind the dimensions of Airbus.
