Pros

Variety of *entry*level* jobs, great for jacks-of-all-trades. Great for students, fill-in jobs, seasonal employment, summer work, etc. Good connections to local job community; often many opportunities (not always).

Cons

--Several different positions are usually available, but many people vying for them. Often overly-qualified applicants (such as myself, with nearly 100% on all tests) with lower experience in available fields are left doing $8/hour foodservice fill-in jobs with no explanation. --Have to sometimes pry 'minimum rate' advice from associates (balance skills/experience with minimum requested income rate to enhance prospects) -- I've been badly advised on more than one occasion, and been passed over for perfectly acceptable jobs that were very close to but under my minimum.

Pros

I found the work interesting, enjoyable and meaningful. In particular, we could listen to books and music while working, which was great. The material we worked with was often very interesting to me. Since it was a temp agency, you could ask for another assignment if it didn't work out.

Cons

Job was classified office, but it was more like a factory job. They monitored our time and output very stringently. Getting time off was often very difficult. I even heard a story about someone who asked for time off to attend a funeral 1 or 2 days later. The site supervisor said, "Next time give us more notice." Like you know 2 weeks in advance that someone's going to die. Site supervisor was cold, uncaring, rude and semi-literate. She literally couldn't spell personnel. Staff morale was often low.

Pros

Adecco is a large organization that has a number of career tracks depending on your interest. One of the other great things is that you could potentially relocate to various places around the U.S. (and world for that matter) and still stay employed with the organization.

Cons

I never felt like the most Sr. Management was interested in the local markets. That's to say, in the two years that I worked for them, I did not once have leadership above the RVP level visit our local office. This, for me and the recruiters that worked for me, was a bit disappointing. The only other issue if you like feeling connected to the company you work for was that with such a large organization, people can get lost in the crowd. Local management was awesome, but in the big scheme of things, you knew that you were but a small entity on a large island.
