Pros

Some really good people but all leaving

Cons

- Incompetent people who mismanage and are responsible for the failure of huge programmes, are subsequently rewarded as long as they suck up - A long history of middle management people presenting other people's work up the chain with no acknowledgment of the teams who actually did it - Good people join digital/technology leave within 2-3 years because nothing meaningful can be achieved - Culture of bullying / harassment if you present healthy challenge and debate

Pros

Despite being in financial services for over 20 years, it’s been since joining AXA that my career really took off. Developing people is important to the organisation and I haven’t experienced any barriers despite being from a low socio economic background. In fact, I felt like I belonged here from the moment I walked through the door. Trust, respect and Care are at the heart of the culture and this is role modelled from the CEO right down through the organisation.

Cons

There’s a lot of transformation happening - but typical of any big corporate and it’s presenting lots of opportunity for people to develop and progress

Pros

Flexible working, some great talented people within the business, feel part of a team, great to be part of an established global organisation

Cons

It could be so much better if senior management were in tune with what is really going on within their teams. It seems to be a culture where they wait for something to break fully before attempting to fix it, when actually the issues were clear in the first place and could have been sorted out. Unrealistic expectations in terms of resource, many teams are struggling and leavers have been at an all time high accros the business! I’ve seen some very talented employees leave, that definitely cannot be a good thing and I feel the business do no act quickly enough on these things. Salary is not competitive enough and I foresee many more leavers which will no doubt slow productivity and mean more work for already stretched teams.
