Pros

Salary/comission is good if you’re good.

Cons

I honestly wish I could say better things about this program because I believe the value is there somewhere, however, young people should run away from this position. Do not be fooled, this is nothing more than a call center, you will be a telemarketer, your entire job will be to make cold calls and sell phones, internet, etc etc. So, one thing that is true is that this program has a massive turnover rate people are fired or quit constantly, there is a reason for this. When I started I had possibly the worst manager I’ve ever had in any job ever, he would barely speak to his team (you could walk past him in the morning and he wouldn’t even say good morning) he would show up late or leave early because he was “sick” he did this 4 times in the same month, he frequently inquired into my personal life (I had to step out during lunch to pick up a prescription and he texted to ask “what you could possibly be doing”), set up meetings during lunch time or meetings that went on for an hour after the work day ended, even sent me texts on my work phone well after working hours (9 pm once) and more. You will be encouraged by the managers to do things that would be considered unethical, such as, “double tapping” customers (if they don’t answer, call a second time right away so they think it’s important), and not saying who you work for when leaving a voicemail so they’re more likely to call you back. This program is quota based, if you don’t hit your quota 3 months in a row you will be told to either “resign or be terminated”, this happened to me, I told my manager that he was going to have to terminate me, he proceeded to try and talk me into resigning twice, then, brought in his manager to try and talk me into resigning, to which I still refused, during the process my manager assured me I would receive an exit interview and he was merely “finding the right person” to give me my exit interview, I never heard from AT&T again and never received an exit interview.

Pros

Great comp + benefits, great people to work with

Cons

Overhyped by recruiters as world-class sales training. In reality, the training is very product-focused. Large portfolios of products to sell and you're expected to sell across multiple, which makes it hard to be an expert in anything. Quotas were unevenly set from MTM, ex. someone in month 2 of the program would have a higher quota in their second month than someone in month 3 had in their second month. At the end of the program, you're expected to hit at least 75% YTD attainment to get placed in the field and if you have a bad first or second month, it's next to impossible to achieve that. Post-sale customer support is terrible.
