Pros

Financially sound, great company to work for, people once in stay for a number of years. Investment being made in most areas of the business

Cons

Systems and processes are too long, takes ages to get ordered and delivered. In US, Global seems to be Mexico rather than true global messages. Once in sales hard to progress as sales management roles don't come available too often. Need local infrastructure that they own rather than utilising partners.

Pros

Pre-Merger things were great at DirecTV. The company did it's best to support employees, provided good benefits and stressed the need for great customer service. Flexible scheduling for associates and reasonable attendance policies for decent pay at the CSR and TL levels.

Cons

After the merger occurred, things began to change almost immediately. Lay-Offs in the terms of "Right Sizing", elimination of call types that should be handled by internal rather than out-sourced employees and general disregard for experienced employees.

Pros

Name recognition, solid stock option 401K match (not like the 90's but better than most). Good working conditions, especially for employees in major markets.

Cons

Company turned a blind eye to shady ethical practices by reps and managers. In markets where sales were harder to come by, many successful sales reps were slamming customers on products that they never asked to buy. The company also continued to adjust compensation for commission sales people so that more of it was optional or bonus money while changing quotas and increasing goals randomly and to support the CEO pay band and stock price. Company has so many levels of useless management that they can't respond to customer issues. They also mad a lot of money off of dragging out the processes and refusing to acknowledge their errors. Shameful installation logistics. Randall Stephenson. Possibly the worst leader in the history of Telecom.
