You guys will be working about 10-12 hours a day installing service on our copper that’s been rotting since the 1960s. Your customers better not call tech support within 30 days because of their slow and decrepit service or you’ll be written up. Also, make sure they take the survey, that’s only about YOU, so that we can advertise to everyone else that AT&T as a whole is a nationally loved company. Burn in the scorching heat and freeze in the frigid winter, don’t idle in our trucks because the EPA will fine us if our employees try to avoid heat stroke and/or frost bite. Kiss your family goodbye, since you’re working 10-12 hours a day, let me add that you can only use your personal phone during your 1 hour lunch period. I know what you’re thinking, no, we don’t care that your family was asleep when you left the house this morning and sleep when you get home. If you don’t like it, go work at McDonalds.”

Managers can range from super cool to downright vindictive, job security is not ensured regardless of individual value to the company. Layoffs are unpredictable and are based on seniority.
