Pros

AT&T is a large company with many areas and a reasonable policy for movement within the company. AT&T's compensation and benefits are on par with other companies. The time off policy is good. There are some very professional, talented and skilled co-workers and leaders/management.

Cons

AT&T is reluctant to embrace telecommuting. It manages by the masses, rather than removing dead weight. More and more outsourcing all the time. Ultimately, many decisions seem to be made by legal rather than leadership. Lower and Middle management is pretty inconsistent in quality, policy.

Pros

Promotions are possible every 18 months, but your may not "release" you based on business needs, head count, and a multitude of other reasons. However, you can veritably remake your career several times within this company and move around the country.

Cons

Very little accountability for those in middle mgmt (i.e. Sales Mgmt). There's virtually no way to have their lack of leadership reviewed by upper mgmt and skip levels are a joke. Don't get me started on the Sales Comp team.
