Cons

No communication, managers are clueless, 1 in particular just spends her time talking to her friends while dragging a pallet truck, when not on the phone she's busy talking down to the staff! Asking for any help is like pulling teeth, everything just gets an eye roll or ur dismissed like it's not important. App was never updated, hols were written in a battered note book in the office, then not checked and u were on the rota, which was done like maybe a day in advance! Not a good place to work, staff that have been there years have voiced how bad the place has got from they started.

Pros

There used to be so many, but over the years they've all gone. It used to be about the people, but everyone is so burnt out. The only thing is parking in Leeds city centre.

Cons

Making so many people redundant & expending roles, but expanding responsibilities so everyone is burnt out. They have lost all the true Asda leaders that had come through the ranks by either making them redundant or them leaving. We have been running without senior leadership on so many areas for so long.

Cons

Many areas of the store are understaffed, yet management expects one person to do the same job that realistically takes at least two people, leading to a vicious cycle where people are overworked to the point of resigning. To add insult to injury, my store is cutting hours due to “overspending on wages” - I would love to know how they determine this, and what their rationale is behind these cuts, as we are constantly short of staff. Very little support or training when getting started, aside from useless online “training” courses. Customers treat you as subhuman sometimes, but that’s to be expected (unfortunately) with retail. Essential equipment such as scanner guns are scarce and often malfunctioning. Overall poor organisation - colleagues are constantly getting asked to help out other departments because of staffing issues. Also management are slow to solve any issues - still waiting on a locker after 3 months working there, which is a security risk, despite asking multiple times for this to be resolved. Poor management has turned what could be a simple and relatively pleasant job into something extremely stressful.
