Pros

Asda is a relatively flexible employer who pay good wages and offer opportunities to develop. Colleagues are easy to communicate with.

Cons

There is a lack of available overtime which results in me not being able to do my job to the high expected of me. Managers often don't understand that good work takes time.

Pros

Vast skills learnt Sense of family If i were to have kids, good benefits

Cons

Lack of developmental opportunities God awful pay (64p more) for the amount we work, responsibility Asda policy is if you are good, you are not moved upwards because of hinderance to store Because of the amounts of hours worked, to make a wage liveable, there is zero life, or chance of creating one We are always made known to be just a figure, always replaceable Lack of reality from finance team as to how many bodies it takes to complete tasks, especially when Asda has a very just and fair policy in employing less abled people! Thanks for taking away a hot breakfast! Not that people who graft on a cold winters day working in -3C needs that during winter. The crux though is that every section leader knows they have very little chance of developing into managers within the next few years due to the restructure, 7 in 10 want to leave because they feel abandoned by the company. Section Leader was only supposed to be a little step, short term to being a manager for those who want it. It is the only justification for working long hard hours, little pay and little credentials for it. Its now been made almost permanent for some people. Whomever is reading this can negotiate a pay, we can't, therefore without a decent pay rise, without development, why work for Asda as a section leader? But it's ok, because we are a figure, always replaceable...
