Pros

- The people here on your level are great friends and very kind, decent people

Cons

- It's an Orwellian nightmare! I was constantly threatened with the sack for "not pulling my weight" when there was no other people around. - Rude and ignorant customers, more annoyed because of the wait as there is no staff - You're just a number to management - Unsociable hours for not even a living wage (don't even think about paying off those debts!) - No progression - Serious injury to eye and the management where falling over themselves "to make sure I was okay" (the claim is still valid by the way ;-) ) - Very depressing environment - No values or culture - Poor pay - Insulting bonus scheme - CEO keeps going on how he was mentored from a cleaner to CEO (real rags to riches stuff), but it is all lies. Really shows a meritocratic workplace when you hire your cousin as the next CEO by the way(!) - Would't wish this job on my worst enemy - No business outlook/ expansion plan

Pros

Colleagues fantastic, supportive store manager, plenty of overtime, excellent training opportunities if you want to progress. Brilliant benefits and incentives for bonuses.

Cons

New fresh restructure is leaving Section Leaders stressed, wanting more out of us but offering no support or extra bodies. Departments not given enough hours and it feels like we're up against unachievable targets. Manager can't increase hours as his hands are tied over wages. Not enough praise when you're doing well. Left short and told you're not allowed to be stressed out as it affects morale! Area Managers need to be having 1-2-1's with section leaders and offering support. More and more colleagues discussing leaving or stepping down. I regret stepping up. I used to love my job, now, not so much.
