Pros

Double discount events every few months Regular customers who are very nice but that doesn't outweigh the bad

Cons

Every second customer asking what you study, because apparently you cant just work at asda to make money it has to be a side thing for a better plan Horrible section leaders that never face the consequences of bullying and making their staff feel alienated, even if they verbally assault you in front of customers on the shop floor during busy hours. For a company that is all about happy customers and keeping happy staff, that is a joke! Very sneaky gossipy staff that start rumours and are too interested in their nights out, taking things not prescribed if you know what I mean, and telling of their drunken stories and arranging the next outing One rule for one and not for all Contracted to finish work at 10pm and come in the next morning for 7am, 8am, or 9am Refusing to increase contract hours or employ full time to current or new colleagues Incorrect training - challenge 25 is trained and lectured a completely different way than to when you actually start on the floor Management dont back you up when you have issues with customers or staff Certain staff are allowed to be on their mobiles on the shop floor, eat, waste time talking with personal friends, "run errands" for section leaders or runners The same staff show up late or take longer breaks than they are entitled, which delays breaks for everyone else Even after your employment if you need anything from asda for references, mortgages, proof of employment, tax rebates and tax codes etc good luck getting what you need in a timely matter, all you get told is "5-7 working days" or "your case is assigned to a colleague" when the query can be dealt with in seconds leaving an unnecessary wait When time off is needed for home matters or personal issues you are advised to "go seasonal" or "use all your holiday allowance for the year" rather than be supported You HAVE to work every weekend whether that is every Saturday or every Sunday. Colleagues who have worked there for years only work weekdays and refuse to do overtime or cover shifts if they are in the evening
