Pros

Very diversified. Very multicultural and staff a pleasure to work with.

Cons

Horrible middle management that lies and cheats just to get to the next day. These people almost never get fired and will never leave because this is the best that they will ever get. Complete chaos at meetings and a lack of desire for best practices. Brutal politics and turf wars. Too many managers for too little staff. 4 or 5 managers for one staff. Way too top-heavy. Lousy middle management drives out all of the good people and all you are left with are foreign-born talent tied to the company via work permit or Brits who can not get a better job anywhere else. Average employee tenure is ~10 months; annual turnover rate is deep into the double digit % area.

Pros

Market leader in the industry (specialized coverage types)

Cons

Reverse discrimination at it's finest. Lay offs come to those who are not minorities. People work here for many, many years without knowing the slightest clue on how to do their job but stay because they're afraid of litigation. Getting the tools to get your job done is just about impossible. Systems never work therefore you cannot get done what you need to and spend enormous amounts of time trying to catch up.

they will hire anyone for this gig. if you dont care aout people and have no self respect you will love it here in the next few months as all the big producers leave you might get some scarps Valic is still not as bad and unethical as axa - your arch rival and the scum of the earth

Cons

you are an annuity sales person sitting in school cafeterias and basements to annoy teachers and janitors into contributing for their own retirements - they don't care
