Pros

Ed Liddy's "Tell it as it is" management style is motivational, transparent and refreshing. The people of AIG are hard working, entrepreneurial and customer focused. I only wish the media and politicians with their own agendas would get their facts straight before attacking this great company for rating or political gains.

Cons

Systems and infrastructures needs improvement. elevators are too slow. Bonus opportunities for rank and file are not competitive against competitors.

Pros

There is plenty of opportunity for advancement in AIG; however, it takes a "driven" personality to succeed. At AIG, employees are allowed to freely move between divisions. It is a tough environment to succeed, but, if you can succeed at AIG, you can do well anywhere.

Cons

With the current situation, senior management has not given any insight into what the company is planning. As employees, we get our news from the media first, and then, we are offered a reactionary webcast, where no real information is conveyed. The new leadership of AIG has made it clear that they are not going to make any effort to retain talented employees or improve morale.
