Pros

- You are trusted by your peers - Great work-life balance, you are autonomous on how to manage your working hours - You decide on which team you will work - You receive an amazing onboarding - You are continuously helped by benevolent colleagues - You can set long focus hours without be disturbed thanks to the asynchronous way of working

Cons

Not exactly cons, rather some pieces of advice: - You must be ready for the asynchronous culture, it's for real - You will be accountable for your choices

Best company culture for me

Business Outlook

Pros

- Great work/life balance (flexible hours, full remote possible, no negotiation for PTO) - Competitive compensation based on skills/performance rather than tenure/experience alone - Great diversity in a single role (Software Engineers can also be part-time coach, interviewer, onboarder, blog writer, ...) - Many opportunities to learn and grow (code reviews, pair programming, book clubs, peer-to-peer feedback) - No micro-management, and a fully decentralized management (my coach is my peer, no hierarchy) - Great people

Cons

- This culture isn't made for everyone, it's better if you're autonomous and don't need/want to be told what to do, and if you're open to feedback and changing your ways - While the Software Engineer position is great, it doesn't seem to always be the case for other roles. Product Managers had some cases of burnout for example, and I heard some other roles had management issues (where their coach is their boss and don't feel they can speak freely)

Benevolence and work/life balance

Pros

* The culture (convexity) is an actual thing, not just empty words * Benevolence is seen everyday and guaranteed by structure and everyone * Autonomous and remote/async culture, allowing a great work/life balance * Engineering team structure and processes guarantees clear carreer path and continuous learning * Atmoshpere / projects / team is so pleasant to me that I would refuse any other job proposal, even with higher paycheck, without having significant culture guarantees * As a person with ~4y experience in tech, I feel I have a lot to learn from senior developers/architects * I'm confident that this 360Learning line in my resume will be a great asset * Engineering team structure guarantees constant improvement (tooling squad + Devops team), which improves continuously our work environment

Cons

* Convexity does not fit everyone, some have trouble thriving in this context, but those who do really live by it * Some weak signals that company is sales lead in rare occasions (but 95% of the time it's product-lead) * For quite some times, people coming from highest-ranked engineering school were preferred, repeating those structures diversity & inclusion issues, it tends to improve though, many people challenged this internally * Product team structure is a bit unstable at the moment (Q3 2022), some mistakes have been done, but feedbacks are listened and I'm confident that it will improve. I'm not personally impacted as an Engineering team member.
