I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Workday in Feb 2022
Interview
I was contacted directly by a recruiter. They expressed an interest in interviewing me and asked to send a CV so they could arrange the interview. I sent my CV and never heard anything back.
I would have loved to have the opportunity to interview for Workday, but I understand that after see my CV the team may not have been interested. The thing is, using these kind of fishing techniques for CV's and then ghosting the candidate is unprofessional and disrespectful.
A simple final message saying that the team are not interested would be minimum amount of courtesy I would hope for here.
Overall though, I think Workday should ensure that their recruiters have a better idea of what is required from candidates and are respectful to all candidates that they deal with.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Workday (Pleasanton, CA) in Jan 2022
Interview
1 phone interview and 5 onsite ones(through zoom).
For the onsite, all interviewers are of one single race which I found it ironic when the manager asked me about the importance of diversity. Is that a joke?
The interview questions are reasonable except one which is Leetcode hard and it is Dynamic Programming. I did not expect hard questions to appear in Workday Interviews and I have not practiced Leetcode enough recently to handle hard-level questions. So without doubt, I failed the question.
For that interviewer, I was able to see the question he asked for the previous candidate because he is my first interviewer. He did not close the window before I join. I was waiting in the lobby when he was interviewing the previous candidate. It was an extremely easy leetcode question.
I do not understand on what basis there is such a level of difference in the interview difficulty for the same interviewer. I doubt it is because of race. Is he trying to only accept candidates with a different race which can get offers from Facebook or Google so that the candidate will probably not join Workday, while giving an easy time for candidates of the same race? Well, that explains why the team is so racially homogenous.

Interview
I've no doubt that Workday is a great company to work for but their interview process let them down.
Interviews:
- Phone interview
- Take home assessment
Standard competency-based questions for the phone screen.
The take-home test was relatively straightforward. Use React to grab some data from an API and write some tests.
Thought I did a pretty decent assessment. Was completely ghosted after this stage. No response either way. A simple follow-up email would have been sufficient stating why my application was not progressed.
I get that recruitment is busy right now but I would expect a follow-up given that I was a few stages into the process.
