Interview
As far as the actual interview goes, they do not ask you traditional interview questions, like 'why should we hire you?', 'what are your weaknesses?', 'why do you want to work here?' and so on. They ask for you to give examples of times that you solved problems, worked as a team, maintained quality control under a deadline, followed rules that you didn't like, etc. There are about 10-12 questions like this, and it is challenging to come up with situations to apply to such specific questions.
It's a tough interview for what seem like basic jobs. They are far more interested in your work ethic, ability to work under pressure, fit into their corporate culture and maintain quality control.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to deal with an irate customer. How did you handle the situation?
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walmart (Centereach, NY) in Jun 2010
Interview
I filled out an application online and was called back yesterday, two weeks later. Today I went to the store and waited 45 minutes for a woman to call me into the back behind Site-to-Store, past huge shelves full of boxes, past what seemed like a hundred employees and into a back room where two associates with headsets were seated at computers and one important-looking woman was sitting at a desk. She greeted me without standing and I took a seat. She explained the positions available, asked if I was interested and informed me that 205 applicants were interviewing for 2 positions. The interview seemed very routine and not personal at all. My interview lasted no longer than 5 minutes. It concluded with "if we need you, we'll call you in for a second interview."
