I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Upwork (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2018
Interview
Very professional and thorough, with a small project to be completed beforehand and present to interviewer. You are given a dataset and are supposed to build a predictive model with whatever tools you wish to work with.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Choice of model for the given dataset, why would you use R over Python or viceversa. Questions about probability theory.

Interview
The Process took about around a month
1st: phone screen
2nd: in house interview with 4 people. 30 min each. No technical. It was more to get a feel of personality
Waited 2 weeks with no response
3rd: webcam interview with Upper Management. Which I thought I had in the bag at that point because they rushed me to schedule this before she went on vacation. She asked me no questions and talked about herself the whole time. I felt unsure about it afterwards.
I emailed them back for an update, Nothing. Emailed them back a 2nd time as I potentially had another opportunity lined up and the recruiter said they were going with someone else.
I think communication with their internal recruiter could have been better. She ignored me quite a bit which I believe was a little unprofessional. A little note saying "we're still in the review process" would have been acceptable. I never met or talked to her so there was no personal relationship.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Upwork (Remote, OR) in Jul 2018
Interview
There was a video/audio chat and a text chat during the interview process.
And there was an identification of my personality. I didn't see the interviewer but the interviewer could saw me. I was asked several formal questions about my personality.
