I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at TranscribeMe in Nov 2020
Interview
No interview, just a test on your understanding of their style guide followed by 3 audio transcriptions. It takes a long time. TM suggests a couple of hours but it is a commitment of several hours.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There was an online test which basically asked you some key points (multiple choice or true or false) from their style guide, followed up with some audio to transcribe.
I tried to apply back when they showed your audio percentage. Got over 96% in most of the audio and still failed. I have tried over 4 times and it all ends the same way. I don't quite understand what is expected. They say that the audio rate depends on the quality but it's like they are not hiring but are afraid to say so they just let you apply just so they can feel the sufficiency of rejecting your application.
Also, the audio was being reviewed within seconds, it feels like a computer-generated script that one needs to keep up with.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Uh-oh! You didn't pass this audio. Note that you will NOT see your accuracy percentage, nor can we give you any feedback regarding your results. Be sure to review the Style Guide before using your Retry!
Actual passing scores are in the high 90s, so 96% is very close to passing! What is expected is for you can understand and apply the style guide correctly. Most people have trouble with feedback/filler words, false starts, and numbers. Make sure you go over those parts again, just in case, and always double check to make sure you're following the instructions correctly.
It is possible to pass the test. Good luck!
English questions and a audio to be transcribed. The audio was very long and medium audio quality. The English questions were also very difficult. There was also the transcribing style questions.

Question 1
The style and format questions have to be 100% correct or you will be failed.
The audio files for the entrance exam are about 4 minutes long. That's not long at all for transcription. The test is designed to make sure that candidates can understand and apply the style guide, which they are provided prior to taking the exam. You can take as much time as you need to study it before attempting the exam, and you can refer to it while taking the exam. If you don't pass the exam the first time, you can take it again. I suggest re-reading the style guide before taking the retry.
