Question 1
Où vous voyez-vous dans 5 ans? Sur une échelle de 1 à 10, comment vous pensez-vous être en terme de ... ?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at TransPerfect (New York, NY) in Aug 2015
Interview
It was an extensive process. It involves several rounds including phone interviews and in person interviews. The recruiter that I worked with was very helpful and timely with his responses. Overall, I would say, despite the regular exhaustion associated with interviewing, it was a pleasant process. Every interviewer that I met and was interviewed by was pleasant. I found the experience to be more of a conversation and less of an interrogation, which was something I appreciated.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at TransPerfect (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2015
Interview
Phone interview set up with an HR Recruitment Associate in PA. I was an internal reference, and was contacted promptly. A time was set up for a first screening call. The interview was OK, although it felt the interviewer was somewhat unprepared. He had barely read through my resume and began the interview with the typical: walk me through your experience. When I talked about my experience and how it is relevant to this role, I felt awkward silences and lack of interest.
There were two sole questions that seems to be important to the interviewer:
1) what is your experience in the translation and localization industry, and
2) what is your salary/benefit package expectation?
I felt as though if you do not fit perfectly within the organization's expectations in those two areas, you are quickly disregarded.
Since my salary expectations, although I mentioned were flexible and negotiable, were higher than the role bracket, they promptly sent me an email stating they had dedided to move ahead with other candidates.
