4 step interview process, focuses both on algorithmic knowledge and your industry related skills. The algorithmic live screen tests may be somewhat too hard for the average joe, the rest are fine.
I applied online. I interviewed at Toptal (New York, NY) in Mar 2020
Interview
The interview was a quick 10 minute zoom call that was basically pointless because all I was told is I need 2+ years experience and I had 1 year. I don't know why they couldn't have just emailed me a denial letter and saved me the prep time etc. Very unprofessional in my opinion...I wouldn't interview at this company again.

It's all about the online test, it is very difficult the first time was like a screen share and you have to code something infront of the other person while he watches you and you can't use google or anything except for MDN
And you need to reinvent the wheel for everything.
