The Team Leader position requires an online exam and three interviews. The first interview is with the Executive Team Leader (ETL), the second is with the Store Team Leader (STL), and the last is with the District Team Leader (DTL). The interviewing process could take up to a month or more.

Interview
Applying internally for team leader position at Target can be a lengthy process. Target creates a "Pipeline" to sign off team members to be eligible for a team leader promotion. After the team leader is hired they are put on the "bench" at their store location. Once a position opens up the team member who was placed on the "bench" first will have seniority for the job.
The interview process for all Target positions are behavioral. You will be asked approximately five different questions to measure your guest service, conflict management, and task management. Your store HR will prep you through mock interviews and then when you are ready to perform your actual interviews you will meet with two store team leaders that you have not met before and your district team leader. You will find out your results within 48 hours of your meeting with hte District Team Leader.
