I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Remote in Mar 2022
Interview
It was not really an interview, but the worst rejection letter I ever saw in my entire 21 years career.
I quote: "I'd like to share with you a very important update - we've just closed this position with a candidate who proved to be perfect for the position. I'm talking about an internal candidate, that is, an employee of Remote, who applied to it and had - of course - the advantage of having the quality of their work, skills and experience totally clear to the team.
As you can imagine, internal promotion and career progression is our preferred method of filling out a position.
This means, of course, that we will be unable to consider you for this particular role but we would strongly encourage you to stay tuned (by periodically checking our careers page at _______) and apply as soon as you see a position that catches your attention and matches your skills."
Thus a very condescending letter that serves no purpose. Am I supposed to feel happy that they picked the perfect candidate internally?
Am I supposed to apply again in the future, if they prefer hiring internally?
Horrible letter of rejection...
Hi there, first we would like to thank you for the time taken to write this review in regards to our recruitment/hiring process and more specifically to an email with the status of your application.
We would like to acknowledge the receipt of your feedback and let you know that we always thrive to provide the best candidate experience whilst remaining transparent, as this is one of your main values.(https://www.notion.so/Values-d43475e8895c4b7c811490aef64782b3)
With this, we also are promoters of internal moves and career development internally - however it’s important to note that each internal employee follows the same process (from application to hire) as an external candidate so we make sure this is not only the right match for the role but to keep the process bias free and fair for all of those involved.
In the interim, we are always on the look out for improving our communications with candidates to make sure there is no space for misinterpretation and will iterate where needed.
Many thanks
