I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Rakuten (Tokio) in Jun 2015
Interview
I applied for the software engineer on the official website of the career of Rakuten, filling in some forms and offering some basic information. After that, I got an confirmation email and was told to take a programming test online and a video interview online. The programming test is not difficult with only one question which should be solved within 1 hour. It is about finding the overlapping area between two rectangles. The video interview is just about some behavior questions. The questions are given in advance so that you can make some preparation and answer them when you are ready. I just took the programming test and made the video interview so far. I am waiting for the further technical interviews.
