I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Rakuten (Bengaluru)
Interview
First round was telephonic and next was face-to-face with tech manager.
Another round was with Tokyo Manager (via video con)
Followed by HR discussion
After all these steps, no response from HR team regarding offer. It would be good, at least if they can inform that the profile is on hold for some reason.
After all it is waste of time for both of us if things go like this!
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Rakuten (Bengaluru)
Interview
Interview process for Java Developer started with 2 telephonic and 1 Skype Round .
Both these rounds had Core Java and Data Structure Questions .
Having cleared them ,I was called for F2F interview at the Rakuten Office located in WTC ,Rajajinagar .
There gave 2 more technical interviews with focus on Core Java ,Design Patterns and Problem Solving .
Having successfully crossed these rounds was told to appear for CTO round via Skype .
CTO round was pretty smooth .
Whole process looked very organized and I was all pumped up to join the Company.
Overall rating of this company over Glassdoor is below 3 (2.8) but still I thought of giving it a shot and was expecting offer to be rolled out sooner .
Alas ,wait ,wait and wait .
No communication from HR team for a week ,then I sent a gentle query about status .
Surprisingly they didn't tell me Yes /No ,they kept me awaited citing multiple reasons like the hiring manager is traveling ,we Haven't yet got feedback ,blah blah .
After 15 days of CTO round ,I finally asked rigidly about the status ,then got a naïve reply that the position has gone ON HOLD .
Frustrated and dejected ,I simply replied - Thanks .
Lesson Learnt - Don't waste time even interviewing here ,let alone joining .
No ,not at all a good place
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Rakuten (Los Angeles, CA) in Mar 2016
Interview
Initially filled out a questionnaire, then later was instructed to take a timed coding test on codility. The coding test was challenging but doable. Afterwards I was instructed to take a repeat of the same questionnaire that I before (when asked why I got no answer), then I got no further response from Rakuten for about 3 weeks.
Eventually I got a generic rejection e-mail, but no feedback on my final testing score or if they had an issue with getting my questionnaire responses. Overall very poor communication.
