Rakuten interview questions

It's red flag from the beginning. HR missed my schedule and then reschedule but joined the interview late. The process is too long and not necessary, usually 3-4 rounds and need to do assessment as well. Package is not competitive (no AWS, low basic salary in industry, bonus is only around 10% per year)

Interviewers were professional and process was structured. However, management is still Japanese and to my surprise, someone leading the engineering team had a consulting background. I made it to the final round but got rejected. Even though I had 2+ years of experience, I found out they offered the role to someone who was a fresh graduate and cheaper to hire. Cost seems to be a major factor they consider. Also, engineering teams are male dominated, so if you're a female, you may not reach your full potential here as they seem to think you are less capable.
