Pretty standard interview process. Contacted by recruiter, a few interview stages and multiple interviews. I was then sent a take hometask. task was a presentation which I spent hours on and then sent across. Then they cancelled the interview. Absolute waste of time.

Interview
The people seem really decent and they're quite responsive. The reason I've given it a negative review is because of the tech task, they give me actual data to solve an actual problem they're facing which I thought companies stopped doing after the whole Revolut fiasco of having devs and analysts doing interviews committing code. It's really suspect behaviour for such a big company to get job candidates to resolve real problems the business is facing using their legitimate data. It put me right off when I saw the scope of what was being asked, when they suggested it would take 3-4 days I thought they were being generous with their timeframes but they weren't, it was a huge in depth business case they wanted with a 30-45 minute presentation that actually made a proposal rather than the usual "we just want to know how you think" that tech tests do. You need the whole 3-4 days if you're going to do it properly to pass this step and that is simply far, far too much time investment up front for candidates who are usually in multiple processes and have a full time job. In the end I decided to just do the bare minimum which still took way too long. My recommendation to the management team is to remove the aspect of real data and to solve an abstract problem and to make it significantly shorter with far, far fewer questions.
