The first round interview was a screening with a Recruiter. They confirmed my salary expectations, which were in line with what was being offered for the position. The Recruiter sent me a follow up to schedule an interview with the hiring manager. After sending in various times, I received an email from the Recruiter that the position's scope was adjusted to better align with the team’s current needs and the salary range was accordingly adjusted. The new range was $50,000 less than what was originally posed.
I examined the new job posting with the old ob posting and the job duties and expectations were not adjusted as claimed - it was the exact same posting. They merely lowered the salary.
I truly believe this was a bait and switch as the pool of candidates one would receive for a salary range $50,000 more is significantly different than one would receive for a salary range $50,000 less.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry for the confusion around salary discussion. In this case, the discrepancy was not intentional, but a result of an internal error that we corrected as soon as it was identified. We understand how frustrating this can feel, and we have taken steps to ensure greater alignment moving forward.
