I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement in Jan 2008
Interview
Interviewed by 2 people. Store manager and sales manager. Refered to the job by HR manager at lowes. People who succeed at Lowes will have a sense of urgency in any posistion they obtain. Best time to obtain employment at Lowes is during late winter - early spring. Typical upswing in head count is focused on customer service associates and garden center posistions. Great way to get your foot in the door. End of season after (90 days of retail hell) will provide enough background on whether seasonal employee is worth keeping. People who succeed at Lowes like many other retail companies will be flexible, team oriented, self motivated and concious of thier work ethic...and as I've stated already...will actively show a sense of urgency in all tasks they are ask to accomplish.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement in Feb 2010
Interview
Had to interview with HR Manager, Zone Manager, and Store Manager before being offered the job. A ton of "tell me about a time when" type questions. I filled out the application on the in-store computer and was called for an interview about a week later. It took a total of approx. 2 weeks to be hired.
The good: Lowe's promotes from within if at all possible
The bad: Starting pay tends to be low, particularly in this economy
The ugly: Retail hours. Say goodbye to weekends, holidays, etc
