1) I applied for an open position for a Sales Advisor through the H&M web page.
2) After 2 weeks I received a phone call from a person working at HR. She told to me that they received my resume and they were willing to make a 20 minute phone interview. She asked me some general questions regarding my CV, and some questions like: why I would like to work for them, what did I like about H&M, which H&M was closest to me and what I liked/disliked about the store/what would i change in the store if i worked there, she then asked me about my availability and told me that I would receive a phone call in 2 weeks if I passed the telephone interview, otherwise I would receive a negative email.
After almost 2 weeks I did get a phone call in which I was we set a date to have a 1:1 interview with the store manager in the store I applied my CV.
3) In the third stage I had my interview in the store, in their private quarters, with the store manager and the HR person I spoke to in my telephone interview. The atmosphere was nice and very informal, they do tend to make you feel at ease.
I was asked by both of them some questions (while both of them were taking notes):
- to tell something about myself
- some general questions about my resume and my working experience (probably to double check what I told them on the phone)
-why I would like to work for H&M and what did I know about the company (check the website for useful info!)
-what values of H&M would I pick that represented myself (they do like to hear that you are a team player).
- I was asked about my availability
- whether I was free to work on weekdays
- if I was used to work in a dynamic and fast paced working environment
-if I tended to hold grudges in case a critique was made on my account and how would I respond to one
- if I liked that particular store, what did I like/disliked about it/ what would I change regarding the setting
- I was given a scenario: you are working at the cashier, there are 2 people in front of you with a handful of items to pay, the phone is ringing and there is one person asking you for help regarding some sizes, what would you do first/how would you handle the situation? ( the most important think is to be a team player: you ask for help, second: always pay attention to the customer)
At the end of the interview ( which lasted about 45-50 minutes) I was asked whether I had some questions left and was told that I would receive a phone call in max 2 weeks if I passed the interview to the next stage (which consists in a job offer) otherwise I would receive a negative email.
Two days have passed so I don't know yet if I made it.
I hope that this review has helpful to someone.
Good luck!
